Cat's Eye - trial run
Oh my. This is going to be fun. I just got a macro lens. I've been saving for one for a while. Anyone in this house who left any change out, be it quarters, dimes or even better, dollar and two dollar coins, contributed to my lens fund. Just so happened that there was a great sale on this lens, and I took advantage of it.
From what I have read about macro photography, the biggest challenge will be lighting, because most of the time, we are very close to the subject. I found that out after only 28 pictures, mostly which were of the pewter knobs on my kitchen cupboards.
This is my cat, Pippin; or more accurately, his eye. It didn't turn out exactly as I envisioned, but I'm just getting started on this venture. I probably could have moved closer, but he was looking very suspiciously at me. When I tried to get the Beagle's eye, she licked the lens. She is clearly not in the spirit of this adventure.
The reflection in his eye is a window that was behind me.
