Last year, for Christmas, I got a wide-angle lens. I think if I had to do it over again, I would have waited and bought a wide angle zoom. The one I bought is 24mm, and I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would. I don't think the key to good landscapes is a wide angle. I think it has more to do with composition and what provides the context and the contrasts. Maybe I just need to practice with it more.
I drive past this farm frequently when I go to pick up my son from school. It's on a very picturesque road that follows a river. The sad part is that it's hard to find a place to pull over because the road is narrow. I liked the colour of the sky that day. I had my wide angle lens with me. Sometime, this winter, I may stop and see what I can see with my zoom.
This farm is always very well-kept. It looked so restful on that day. The ground is being given a well earned rest.
