Christmas means baking. I don't do as much baking as some mothers do, but I do make the things my kids like best, and that includes Butterhorns. It's a simple recipe, using flour, butter, sugar, sour cream, and cinnamon. They melt in your mouth.
The dough is rolled out into a circle, and cut pizza-style, so that each little piece is rolled up like a crescent roll. The sugar/cinnamon mixture is in the middle. You can add nuts, too, but I like them better without.
My husband says that the best part is the cinnamon/sugar mixture which bubbles up on the cookie sheet and is left behind.
Best Christmas cookie ever.
