Cemeteries along the way

I drove to have coffee with a friend recently, taking the backroads.  Here in southern Ontario, there are any number of little towns along the way, often looking rather similar.  The churches and cemeteries are often along the main drag.  I stopped by this little Baptist church cemetery to look for cool old headstones.  Whenever I pass by cemeteries, I am always drawn to the statues.  When I got out of my car, and looked through the lens just to see what was out there, I spotted her:

I got a little closer and saw that she'd been out there a while.

She's holding a wreath of flowers in her hand.  I think the name on the headstone was "Allen," but  it was so hot out that day, I forgot to have a look for more details; what a dope I am.

One of these days, I'm going to have to find out what exactly that is all over her milky white surface.

One thing I've learned about cemeteries:  they are much prettier in the evening.
