Much of the southern Ontario as well as Quebec and into the Maritimes have been slammed with an ice storm. We only had rain yesterday, but it turned to freezing rain sometime after 11:00 p.m. In the middle of the night, I heard the sound of one of our a cedar trees snapping from the weight of ice and falling to the ground. Now, we have rain and zero degrees Celsius; the worst temperature for such conditions. Here's hoping the temps will rise and the ice will melt. Many people are without power.
I'm hoping to get some more pictures later. The ground is very slick at the moment, and I have no aspirations to break a bone three days before Christmas.
