Along a path where I frequently walk my dog, there is an apple tree whose fruit was still hanging on long after the leaves fell.

This was taken about ten days ago.  Even after several heavy snow falls, these apples clung to their branches.

A good many of them ended up at the base of the tree.  Considering the path is next to the high school, I'm surprised there weren't more gone.  They likely make wonderful fodder for target practice among the students.

Seems a strange place to plant a fruit tree.
