We had a big snowfall, followed by a thaw, which was followed by rain. That translated into icy streets. They were so treacherous, I was afraid to walk on them. I was thankful that at least the middle of the roads were plowed so that I could walk.
I was very careful one afternoon, after 4:00 p.m. to not trip as I got close and saw the amazing beauty that is found in something simple as ice.
The ice was so very thin in places; delicate, with tiny bubbles. You can see the pavement underneath where the ice has broken.
I thought that this looked almost like an arial view of an icy land.
There were still leaves from my neighbour's Birch tree along the curb.
Winter has been cold, but there is such beauty in something so simple as water and cold temperatures. Natural artistry.
